The Scorecard is your personal golf record — a living log of every course you've played, every round worth remembering, and every place you still have on your list. Add courses to your wishlist, track what you've played, and build a personal ranking that reflects your honest opinion of where each course stands.
A Ranking That Actually Means Something
Most ways of rating a golf course flatten the experience into a number. Five stars or one, and everything in between. The problem is that golf doesn't work that way. A course that's genuinely great for one golfer — scenic, walkable, challenging in the right ways — might be a poor fit for another. And a number tells you none of that.
The STIMP ranking system is different. Rather than rating each course against an abstract scale, you rank courses against each other. The result is a personal tier list that grows more meaningful the more you play. A course you added to your top tier two years ago might get displaced when you discover something better — and that displacement is information. It tells you something true about your taste that a static five-star rating never could.
Unlike star ratings that flatten everything into a number, your STIMP ranking grows more meaningful the more you play — creating a true reflection of your taste over time.
Depth That Other Platforms Skip
What makes the Scorecard different is the depth of what you can capture. Go beyond an overall impression and flag a favorite hole. Note what made a round special. Tag a course with details that actually help other golfers — things like walkability, green speed, or pace of play.
These are the details other platforms skip. When you tag a course as walkable and link it to a specific memory of a round you walked in September, that tag carries meaning. It's not an algorithm-generated label. It's firsthand knowledge from someone who was actually there.
Beyond a tier ranking, the Scorecard lets you flag a favorite hole, log your best score at a course, tag courses with attributes like walkability or green speed, and add it to your wishlist before you've played it. Every field is optional — log as much or as little as you want.
See Where Your Connections Have Played
Your own scorecard is only part of the picture. You can also browse the scorecards of your connections — see where they've played and what they've loved. This makes it easy to find your next round through people whose opinions you already trust.
The people in your network have played courses you haven't been to yet. They've had rounds you'd love to hear about. When someone whose taste you respect puts a course in their top tier, that means something different than a review from a stranger. The Scorecard turns your network into a recommendation engine built on real relationships.
Word-of-mouth has always been how serious golfers find their best rounds. The Scorecard gives that word-of-mouth structure — and makes it searchable.
A Recommendation Engine Built on Real Taste
The Scorecard is free for all STIMP members to use and enjoy. And coming soon: a course recommendation engine that looks at the courses you've rated most highly and cross-references them with what other golfers — who loved those same courses — have played and enjoyed.
Think of it as word-of-mouth at scale, built on real taste rather than algorithm. Not “golfers like you also liked,” but “the golfers who gave the same courses you love their highest marks also consistently love these.” The distinction matters. One is a demographic inference. The other is a genuine shared aesthetic.
