Most online golf reviews cover the course and stop there. The Index is built on a different belief: that when you're considering joining a private club, the golf is only part of the story.
Beyond the Course
The quality of the food, the culture of the membership, the responsiveness of management, the feel of the locker room on a Tuesday morning — these things matter enormously, and they're almost impossible to find reliable information about anywhere. Every club in the Index can be researched in depth.
For public courses, The Index provides verified course data: slope ratings, yardage by tee set, par, course architect, and USGA ratings. The fundamentals that help you understand what you're walking into before you get there. For private clubs, the picture goes deeper.
Joining a club is one of the biggest financial and social commitments a golfer makes. You deserve to walk into that decision fully informed.
Private Club Intelligence
For private clubs, fee structures and full membership reviews are contributed anonymously by verified current members. This isn't crowdsourced noise. It's firsthand experience from people who are actually inside — who pay the initiation fees, the annual dues, the food minimums, and the guest fees that private clubs don't publish anywhere.
The information has always existed. It just lived in conversations between the right people — a sponsor vouching for you, a friend who happened to be a member, a connection at the right club. The Index makes that intelligence available to anyone seriously considering membership, without requiring you to already know someone on the inside.
For private clubs: initiation fees, annual dues, food minimums, guest fees, and qualitative member reviews covering course conditions, staff, membership culture, and management responsiveness. All contributed anonymously by verified current members.
Contributing Data
If you're a private club member and want to contribute data for your club, you'll receive 30 days of full platform access at no cost — our way of recognizing that what you're sharing has real value to the community.
Everything contributed is kept completely anonymous, and the integrity of that promise is non-negotiable. The Index is only as accurate as the data behind it, and that data comes from members like you — people who are actually inside the clubs being researched, who know what the numbers look like on their renewal notice.
What you contribute has real value to every golfer in the network evaluating their options. The trial period is our way of recognizing that.
